It is almost the end of September, and my reading for this month is about on par with my reading for August, which is to say…not a whole lot has been happening in that arena. So far, I have only finished one book for work, and I haven’t decided if I want to post about it yet. Anyway, the only way I’ll get some content on this blog in the meantime is if I talk about the books I have been attempting to finish since school started, complete with related GIFs.
As If!: The Oral History of Clueless… by Jen Chaney — You would think I’d be done with this one by now since I love Clueless from way down deep in the bottom of my heart. But you’d be wrong.
Lois Lane: Fallout by Gwenda Bond — Nothing about this book has compelled me to take it beyond the bathroom so far.
Smek for President! by Adam Rex — I’m listening to this on audiobook as I take the bus to/from work. I will probably finish this first since it’s due back in three days, and I’m terrified Overdrive might delete my bookmarks. Possibly that is something I should look into.
There’s also the book club book that I’m pretty sure I’m not going to finish because I haven’t really started it yet. Book club meets this Sunday! So…yeah, that’s probably not going to happen. I mean, I tried to start it, but I’ve been exhausted after work and fell asleep the one time I tried to read it. (For the curious, the book is Anna’s Crossing by Suzanne Woods Fisher.) And the graphic novel that I’ve had checked out from the library but have yet to crack open (Rat Queens). And the manuscript of my friend’s book that she sent me that I really want to read but have yet to crack open because see above for all the other books I haven’t completed yet.
Back to school time: it is the absolute worst for my reading mojo.
