I am a genius #sol17

Today I discovered that the conditioner I have been using for months (MONTHS!) is actually shampoo.

Shampoo.

How did I discover this?

Well, I was trying to show my daughter how to take down her hair, and I mentioned that conditioner would help to give it better “slip” as the hair peeps call it. “So, take a little of this conditioner,” I said, “and put it on the ends of your hair.”

To which she said, “Yeah, except that’s shampoo.”

And I looked at the label, and it definitely says shampoo.

You know, I had always wondered why my conditioner created lather. And it never once occurred to me to check the label.

    1. Been there, did you also know that conditioner doesn’t work well when used to clean hair. Yeh done that too.

  1. HA! You made me laugh! I love that you admitted it. I have been known to keep those cards pretty close from embarrassment! It’s good you can laugh with us.

  2. Oh, I laughed out loud on this one! A few years ago, when I was visiting my mom, I discovered the opposite in her shower: she only had conditioner. You are not alone.

  3. Hahahaha, oh my God, you don’t know how validating I found this story. I had a friend recently stay the night at my place, and I remembered just before she arrived that I had used up the last of my shampoo, so I ran upstairs and put a fresh bottle of shampoo in the shower in case she needed it? And when I went to take a shower the next day, after she’d left, I realized that the fresh bottle I’d put out was conditioner, so I’d left her a shower full of three conditioners and no shampoos. It bothered me way out of proportion to how big a deal it was; I keep thinking WHAT IF SHE THINKS I DON’T KNOW WHAT SHAMPOO IS. :p
