Days 21 & 22 #BlackMusicMonth #30DayMusicChallenge

I missed yesterday because I was traveling all day. First, my daughter and I flew to San Francisco. Then, we drove into downtown San Francisco (during the beginning of rush hour). Then, we drove out of downtown San Francisco (during the middle of rush hour–I do not recommend this) to Oakland. Then, we drove to San Jose. Then, we drove back to Oakland.

And when I say “we,” I mean “I” because my daughter couldn’t drive the rental car.

So, you know. No posting yesterday. But! I can do it now.

The day 21 prompt was a song that’s attached to a really great memory. My answer is “Expression” by Salt-N-Pepa.

First of all, the song itself is just a really great memory because it’s great. But the specific memory I was thinking of is one particular summer when my (step)sister was visiting and (I think) my neighbor’s cousin was also visiting. And when spent one evening making up a routine to the song–the only part of which I remember is each one of us making a dramatic entrance through the screen door (or outrance, I guess, since we were doing the routine on the patio so went out the door, not into it).

Day 22 is a song you never get tired of hearing.

So I’m going to base this answer on when I used to listen to the radio constantly. Or as I like to call it: high school. There were two songs that were played all the time that I would listen to and not even care that they kept being played on the radio. I wouldn’t change the station or complain if they came on, which is a miracle from God, I’m trying to tell you.

Anyway, the first song is Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” remix with Ol’ Dirty Bastard. And, yes, this is the second time this particular song has been an answer for a challenge prompt.

The second song (not a runner-up, so let’s call this one a tie) is “Who Can I Run To?” by Xscape.

Tomorrow should be interesting since I have no idea yet what my answer could be.
