Today, I’m going to highlight some of my favorite holiday ornaments! A few years ago, I was talking to a woman who told me that most of the ornaments on her family’s tree were from vacations they had taken, and ever since then I have tried to get an ornament when I travel/visit somewhere. (If I can’t, I try to get a magnet.) I also have some ornaments that have other memories attached, and I love all of them so much more than the ones I just bought on a whim because they were pretty or whatever.
This year, when I decorated my tree, it made me so happy to see the different places I had been and experiences I’d had. I mean, I had forgotten I went to Disneyland this year, which is just wild, but my ornament reminded me!
I also went to see Hamilton this year. (I also bought the magnet haha.)
This one is from my trip to Santa Fe, NM with my best friend. (It’s a Santa pepper!)
My mom and I went to Santa Barbara when she visited me during spring break. (I love this little mermaid. She’s so cute!)
I also have an ornament from my previous job. I really did enjoy working there and miss a lot of my coworkers.
My friend Nicole sent this little mitten to me years ago, and every time I see it, I think of her, and it makes me so happy! (The little snowman in the background was from my old book club’s ornament exchange, so there are some more happy memories.)
Oh, and as a bonus, I mentioned last year that I finally have an actual fireplace to hang my stockings over. I didn’t hang stockings last year because I wasn’t here for Christmas, but I did this year, and I just got such a thrill because I hung them with care! By the fire! Ahhhhh.
I can’t wait to see what new ornaments I’ll add to my tree next year.
I love this idea! Some of my favorite ornaments are ones that have stories behind them, but I don’t usually look to buy ornaments connected with good experiences. I do love buying other people ornaments though. Thank you for sharing!

Love this! Also, I am pretty sure we have identical trees. I love my white tree with opalescence even though it’s fake as hell. If you’re gonna go fake, go real fake I say!!! 🙂
