It’s Monday and I forgot to schedule my #AMonthofFaves posts for last week

Last week was finals week and I left town mid-week, and if you think that’s why I forgot to schedule my post, that is incorrect. I just checked to see why/how I forgot, and it turns out that I wanted to add a photo to the post and didn’t, hence the lack of posts last week. So that means I’m behind on my A Month of Faves posts, which means I’ll be catching up on them this week, so things will be a little out of order as I get up to speed. The good news is that I’ve had good reason (besides finals) to miss posts: I was at Disney World!

So far I’ve managed to visit all four parks, see the Epcot fireworks show (Harmonious), watch Fantasmic, meet Mickey & Friends at a character dinner, and watch the Lion King show.

I also went to the candlelight processional service at Epcot with Neil Patrick Harris as the night’s special guest. It was amazing. He was great and all of the signing/songs were A+++.

And in between all of that I had to finish grading and submit final grades.

All grades were officially submitted on Saturday, though, which means winter break can begin in earnest. Huzzah! Yesterday, I slept a thousand sleeps. On Wednesday, I’m supposed to go back with my parents and daughter to Disney World on Wednesday, and we’re hoping to make it to the Guardians of the Galaxy and Frozen rides and also the fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. While I wait for that, though, I think I’ll get to what else I’m excited about doing this break: reading!

In the meantime, here is last Monday’s A Month of Faves post.

#AMonthofFaves A Day in My Life

This was Friday’s prompt!

FRI | Dec. 10 – #AMonthofFaves – A Day / Weekend / Week in the Life (give us a peek into your life)

I didn’t post this on the day of because my daughter came home for break, and my day absolutely got away from me, and then yesterday I had to catch up on work because it’s the end of the semester. I almost talked myself out of posting at all, but then I remembered I had already written everything down, so here’s what my day was like on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

#AMonthofFaves: A Day (or Weekend) in the Life of Yours Truly

amonthoffaves2

Today’s prompt:

MON. Dec. 10 – A Day (or Weekend) in the Life. What did you do on Saturday, December 8th … or that weekend – December 8-9. Let’s take a peek into each others lives as as we chronicle what we all did on that day (or during the weekend).

It’ll be weekend for me!

December 8

3:30 a.m. – Wake up because I fell asleep at 6:45 p.m. after getting home from the gym. Eat food, futz around online (which includes trying to figure out why a book I know I rated on Goodreads doesn’t have a rating and why another book is showing up as having been read twice when I only read it once).

4:31 a.m. – Heat up some tea, read a little bit

5 a.m. – Have a lie down so I can get up at a reasonable hour and face the actual day

7:22 a.m. – Wake up for realsies, meditate, fool around on Facebook

8 a.m. – Get out of bed, shower, eat, etc.

9:45 a.m. – Head to my support group, run errands, eat some food, futz around online (this will happen a lot)

2 p.m. – Grade papers

2:10 p.m. – Slight grading crisis, phone a friend

A Pretty Typical Atypical Day in My Life

I usually post strictly about books (and occasionally teaching), but I thought it would be fun to participate in the A Day in the Life challenge/event hosted by Trish over at Love, Laughter, and a Touch of Insanity. Basically,  bloggers show what a typical day in their lives looks like.

Day-in-the-Life-Event

The day I’m sharing is atypical for me because my daughter is on spring break and is out of town on a service trip with the church’s youth group. So the part of my day that’s devoted to mom-type stuff is missing. (Also, I usually wake up an hour earlier. No taking daughter to school = sleeping in!) However, this day wound up being pretty typical because unexpected life stuff came up that kept me from having the kind of day I planned. So, you know, typical.

So here’s what my day looked like on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
