A List of Things I Have Done Since My Last Post

1. I went to a panel with the Jane the Virgin showrunner as well as several members of the writing staff. They played the clip of Jane’s reaction to the major spoiler that happened at the end of last season and then answered questions from the moderator (who was the show’s narrator!!!) about the process.

Two fun facts: (1) The whole season is planned in detail from the beginning. (2) They always reveal secrets instead of having characters keep them.

Come on Down! Part II: That Time I Was the Next Contestant on the Price Is Right

In case you missed it, I went to a taping of The Price Is Right on Dec. 18, 2018. Even though today is Feb. 26 (five days after the episode aired), I am writing this post on December 20 while it’s still fresh, which means by now you should (could?) know that I was called to COME ON DOWN and be the next contestant on The Price Is Right!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

So anyway, yes, that is a thing that happened, and I am STILL riding high from it! I also imagine I still will be in February (when this post goes live) because it was one of the greatest moments of my life. We are talking lifelong dream stuff here. I MEAN. Whew.

Okay, so here’s what happened.

Come on Down!

So, I went to a taping of The Price Is Right today, which was probably the most fun I’ve had in a long time and I have had a lot of fun this year. I mean, it was an experience.

Before I start, I do want to say that they made us sign an agreement before the taping that said we wouldn’t spoil anything “by talk or by text,” so I’m not going to talk about any of the contestants or anything but rather the experience of going to the show.

Bruno Mars, Boyz II Men, and The Breakk

This has been a week, but unlike last week which was a week, this was more “a bit of a week” (to paraphrase Lin-Manuel Miranda when he drops epic and happy making news).

To start, on Tuesday, I went to see Bruno Mars in concert.

Now, there were many things awesome about this. First of all, I had a pretty bomb floor seat. Second, I made friends with the woman (also there alone) sitting behind me. Third, BRUNO MARS who was amazing. Fourth: Surprise! Boyz II Men was the opening act.

Make some decisions for me! Also: books & bookish events

1. I already posted this on Twitter and Facebook, so I’m also posting here. But a few years ago, I did a 32 things to do before I turn 33 project, and I’m looking to do something similar for my 40th birthday. I am looking for suggestions of cool things to do by my 40th birthday or before my 40th year is up (this is still very much in the conception stage, obvs.)

I did wind up completing quite a few things on my 32 list, so I need to rebuild. Here are some things I’m already planning to do/considering doing:

  • Go see Hamilton
  • Go to Harry Potter world
  • Do one of those paint class things
  • Take a knife skills class
  • ride in a hot air balloon
  • go to a taping of Price Is Right
  • surfing lessons
  • go to Hawaii
  • finish reading the Bible
  • post a YouTube video
  • indoor skydiving

NOTE: I am not jumping off a bridge or out of a plane, so please do not suggest bungee jumping or skydiving. They are both an automatic no. Anything else will be seriously considered! So please post some suggestions in the comments.

I live in the L.A. area if that has any impact on what you might suggest.
