I get mad when the algorithm gets me, but also when it gets me, it really gets me, which I can’t even be mad at because I learn about sites/things I never knew about before. It’s a double-edged sword! So basically, I was going to post a list of things I most want like I did last year, but then I realized most of the things on the first version of this post were because of Facebook (FB) or Instagram (IG) ads. And when I got to #3, I knew that’s what the focus of this post had to be. So here we go: five gifts I want because of the algorithm.

1. Okay, so the algorithm totally got me because after seeing this author clock pop up in my FB and IG feeds a couple of times, I can think of nothing else except how I NEED it. I need it. That is all.

2. As I sit here day after day hunched over my desk with my laptop both too close and too far, I also realized it may be time to get an external keyboard, but this time make it cute. I’m going to blame the algo again, though I think this time it was actually just that a friend of mine posted a pic of her really cute keyboard, which made me think of getting one. Still, as we all know, the algorithm decides which of our friends’ posts to show us, so there is that.

3. OMG and as I was writing this the algo got me AGAIN with this cute Barbie mirror.

4. I don’t remember how I came across this bookshelf (which lets me know it was probably definitely the algorithm again) but I have been eyeballing it since earlier this year. Real wood! No particle board! Amazing!

5. Last, but certainly not least, I definitely only learned about this fannish blazer because of an FB ad, and now I’m pretty sure I can’t live without it.
