I was thinking about posting ALL DAY and then I got home and forgot until I looked at the clock just now (11:34 p.m.). Sigh.
Part of the reason I got sidetracked is that I get off work at 8:20 p.m. and then I got home and decompressed by…I don’t even remember what I was doing. Talking to my daughter. Trying to make something to eat. (I almost burned the zucchini.) Laying on the couch and scrolling on my phone. And then I had to balance my checkbook because my daughter’s birthday is next week, and she wants to see Six tomorrow (the touring one). We saw it last week because I won the lottery, and she loved it so much that she wants to see it again.
The adventure of the night was her breathing down my neck while I searched for tickets in our price range and then getting antsy because I was too slow to click on seats in row V, so she had to settle for row Z instead. Unfortch, I cannot swing the closer seats, so she also lamented the fact that we aren’t rich. Our lottery tickets were in the front row, and I told her that she’s going to be ruined forever now, and all she did was prove me right.
Working until 8:20 is an adjustment. My ideal schedule has me ending at 6:05 because I want to keep my evenings free to go to events (like the one I missed last week, alas). But I’ll take teaching late to not making my contract any day. But as a person who is a night owl, I am surprised by how much this class has been taking out of me. Part of it is probably also that Monday is my long day, and I did manage to make it to water aerobics this morning. So, yeah, long day.
I’m going to try a new Pilates studio tomorrow, so that may prove to be an adventure. We’ll see.

Oh wow, I often literally get in the bed at 9 pm so I cannot imagine teaching until after 8 pm. (To be fair, I am also usually awake by 5, so an early bedtime makes sense.) I hope your daughter will enjoy the outing even though Z row seats are a long way from the first row!
Haha yes, but they’re still pretty good seats.
It balances, I guess, because if I had to teach at 7 am (something I did when I first got here), I would not be making it. At least I’m a good teacher in the evening classes.
I’m impressed with your busy life that you fit in pilates! I know exercise is important but when I was teaching, I could never manage exercise after work. I hope you and your daughter enjoy your second trip to Six!
oh no, Pilates was definitely not after work. It was in the morning of a non-teaching day.
Wow, you definitely had a busy day! A fun slice.
